Valentine Day Surprise!

Valentine Day Surprise! I would have to say that it is one of my all time favorite holidays. On Valentines Day, I am always reminded of this particular touching
story, It goes like this: A few years ago, when Realtor Ray brought this chick home with him. Now, now, before you jump to conclusions, let me set things straight.
When I say chick, I mean a newly hatched, cute with yellow fuzzy down feathers chick. You see on a beautiful crisp morning, Valentines Day to be exact, Ray was strolling down past the houses on his block to get the mail, when he heard the smallest, softest peep possible. Well, at first he thought he was imagining things and just keep walking but in his heart he knew he heard that peep. If you know Ray, you can appreciate how keen his hearing is. Anyway, he stopped to investigate where that peeping sound was coming from. My oh my….What had made that gentle peep, and in no time he had found the chick. Under that bush was this tiny newly hatched, fuzzy yellow chick. Well, you know how baby chicks can be, first they think you’re their mother (father in Ray’s case), and then they’re following you home. Ok, maybe I’m exaggerating a little. Really: all he knew is that little chick was all alone, under that bush with no one to love it, and of all days—Valentines Day.I don’t know, call me sentimental but Ray picked up that chick, carrying it gently back to his house, where he loved it and nurtured it. Ray named it Peeps. Now Isn’t that’s what Valentines Day is all about, sharing your heart and home with your loved ones?As Peeps grew, Ray knew in his heart to keep peeps wouldn’t be fair, one sunny day in Late March, Ray took Peeps to Farmer Will’s. Ray knew right away Peeps was right at home. You see, Ray found a home for Peeps and he can do that for you too! Occasionally Ray visits Peeps who is still doing fine at Farmer Will’s. Get ready to excite ALL your senses and be sure to bring a camera. An exciting blossoming idea, try touring the Hwy 70, along the road you will see the orchards in bloom including some of the following trees set in orchard style. See the white, purple and pink blossoms that adorn almond, prune, Asian pear, kiwi, walnut and pistachio trees. The smallest known mountain range known as the Sutter Buttes boast of 15,000 acres of springtime color. A most unique landmark, located 1,000 feet over the valley floor features a mosaic of grassland, flat volcanic outcrops and vernal pools. Wildflowers such as California poppies, daisies and lupine blanket the landscape. It is hailed as a premiere location for viewing flowers in Northern California. Wild flowers are abundant on Table Mountain, If you have never been to Table Mountain, this spring beauty will take your breath away, all the flowers are in a naturalized setting. Vina Plains Preserve located 13 miles north of Chico is owned and maintained by the Nature Conservancy, It features meadow foam, vernal pools, and awesome delicate wildflowers.

Is it, “Ah, winter” or “Aaaaaarrrrggghhhh WINTER!” Burr…. As I was out shivering on the deck last week, enjoying a tuxcedo mocha from Coffee”s On, reflecting on just how cold it was . . .
I was hoping, I might escape a real winter this year, first I felt and then I saw it – SNOW!
Snow in Paradise? Well, I know it isn’t unheard of but to have the unmitigated gall to land on my head while I was enjoying life on the deck, that’s just too much. Granted, it wasn’t a lot, but snow in any amount is something that causes me to shiver.
The only positive thing the snow does for me, it provides me an excuse to contact all my clients and invite them to a snowball fight. I hadn’t purchased any new winter clothes in awhile so I thought I’d treat myself to a warm snowsuit to prepare for the future impending snowball event. Way too cool I was!I looked especially good as I four wheeled my way up the Skyway back into Paradise, but as I pulled into my drive though, a group of little people ambushed me with a volley of well directed snow balls. I was defenseless and in a matter of seconds they had reduced my dashing persona to a slush covered real estate agent.
Unfortunately the cold weather had frozen my coffee so I retreat to my warmth of my home to take the chill off. After hanging my duds to dry, I decided that function was more important than form so I bundled up in some long underwear, wrapped a blanket around myself and wiled away the night with a box of leftover Chocolates from Christmas. Yum! I kept reminding myself of the upcoming snowball event, lots of folks like the cold weather but that’s what Alaska and Montana were invented for. Here in Paradise, California, we get a taste of the cold stuff – which don’t last long at a stretch. It’s a grand time to remember to nurture the little kid in us all. One thing I’m not loving right now is the bill that just came in from shopping for (snowball fight clothes) that I bought.
Well . . . . There is a nice ranch down the road a few streets further south. Who knows, it might be just far enough south to get me out of the way of any more frigid weather. You think!

If you want to be a successful investor, buy fixer-uppers, from the owner who wants to be rid of that property. Why would a seller want to sell a property for a low price or with great terms? The most common answer would be money. Either they find themselves in a predicament caused by divorce, illness or loss of employment, but regardless of their reason, it’s a great time for the beginner investor to pick up an Investment Property. Rundown propertys are the most desirable type of investment to look for. They are described as rundown but not in need of much structural repair. As you scan the classified ads, look for terms such as “handyman special” or “fixer-upper.” Ugly houses scare away home buyers who don’t have the money to finance the repairs or upgrades necessary. Rundown homes have the potential to fit into the neighborhood after the repairs have been made. Look for entry-level homes which are in need of cosmetic upgrades such as paint or new carpet. Those are types the houses you can flip quickly and make the most money on, because there’s always a strong demand for entry-level houses.Your objective is to get into the home quickly, fix it up, and then sell it, so you can move on to the next rundown property.
