Take In A Movie At Tinseltown Movie Theater

My glorious way to chill down from the chico heat is watch a new movie at Tinseltown theatre.  A sought after movie, large bucket of buttered popcorn, soda and red vines as you enjoy the movie and sit enjoying all the free Air Conditioning.   If you time it right, you exit the movie as the cooling down in Chico has begun.

Chico Cyclist Ride Bikes Up Honey Run Road to Paradise

While the approach to Honey Run road climb is busy as more people move into Butte Creek Canyon, the bikers riding up Honey Run remains a classic ride.   This is a twisting, narrow winding road with switchbacks and parts of the road even wash away.  Occasionally flat spots appear but just barely long enough to work up a little steam to get to the next section of climb.   And you know, that the higher you ride, the steeper it gets…but don’t let that intimidate you.  Every April over 3,000 riders successfully climb Honey Run on the Wildflower Century. And climb it is what you should do !

I dropped by La Posada the other day and I must tell you the soft tacos were wonderful.  My lunch came a la carte but you can get a full lunch.   Scrumptious is the word.  I recommend you try this lovely restaurant in Paradise California just off Clark road and Pearson.

Five-Mile is the kicking off point for walking trips into the canyons or your own undetermined destination.    It is also a great place for groups with plenty of picnic tables and barbeques and ample space.  This well known spot is well traveled.  Take Vallombrosa east to the end, turn right on Manzanita, left on Centennial and the area is to the left.  Enjoy

Can I fish in the pond at acquatic park?

Although Acquatic park has a lovely fishing pond only youngsters under the age of 15 may fish there.  Dept of fish and game does plant fish for the annual kid’s fishing.   This beautiful park is situated in the heart of Paradise, CA.   Besides the pond it features grassy knolls, a wonderful large playground and plenty of parking.   Picnic areas with benches can be found but if your looking for the little ones try the creek.  Regularly I find them looking for crawdads or tadpoles.   The swimming pool is maintained by the parks and recreation district and is open from Memorial day through Labor day.   Find your way to Acquatic park at the corner of Recreation drive and Buschman road.
